We offer a wide range of walks, suitable for all walkers and levels of fitness. So, whether you prefer a relaxed pace or something a bit more challenging, we have the walks for you.
Our walks are divided into three categories.

Long walks take place every second Saturday throughout the year. These walks are usually about 6 – 8 hours in duration. The routes vary but are approximately 10 – 20km and may include up 5 summits. As our long walks are for experienced walkers and require an appropriate level of fitness, we require all new members to first try one of our medium walks.

Medium walks take place every alternate Sunday. Medium walks are usually about 4-5 hours in duration. The routes tend to be about 6 – 10km, and may be on the level or include 1 or 2 hills/mountains.

Short walks take place every alternate Sunday. These walks are about 3 hours in duration and tend to be approximately 2 – 5km in length. These walks offer walkers an opportunity to explore areas of interest at a relaxed pace.

No matter what grade walk you choose, the Dublin Walking Club club puts a constant emphasis on safe walking and walkers are expected to follow the instructions of the Walk Leader while on a walk.

Most of our walks take place in the Wicklow and Dublin mountains, but we also organise walks elsewhere in Dublin and in locations throughout the length and breadth of Ireland. The latter walks are often arranged as part of our annual summer outing or occasional weekends away. Every second year we organise a Club holiday abroad, and over the years we have travelled to countries such as Austria, Italy, Switzerland, etc.
